Abstract
ExxonMobil is focused on the dual challenge of meeting the growing demand for energy to support economic development around the world while minimizing environmental impacts and the risks of climate change. Significant advances in technology across all sectors are needed to create scalable and affordable, low greenhouse gas emissions solutions.
Today, we are working to develop the next generation of energy solutions, including carbon capture and storage; natural gas technologies; and new energy efficiency processes. In addition to our robust in-house capabilities, we collaborate with leading research and technology companies, national labs, universities, and others involved in breakthrough energy research.
In this presentation we will explore some of the portfolio of research and technology developments to support these goals. We’ll also describe how we hope our collaborations as a founding member of the Singapore Energy Centre, led by NUS and NTU and including A*Star, may continue to grow the portfolio of solution pathways.
About the Speakers
Adam is progressing a portfolio of sustainable solutions that leverage natural systems as CO2 sinks while protecting ecosystems. Previously he served as Advisor to the Singapore Energy Centre and in various technical and managerial roles within ExxonMobil R&D including in upstream reservoir modeling, subsurface imaging and corporate strategic themes in biofuels, carbon capture & sequestration, climate science, and life cycle assessment. He received his BS in Physics from Dartmouth College, MS in Materials Science from Hiroshima University, and PhD in Space Physics from Rice University. He also worked at Goldman Sachs supporting precious metals trading.
Saifudin is currently Strategic Portfolio Manager in EMTEC organization, a position he has held since 2019. Recently, he has also been appointed as the Energy Center Advisor in SgEC. He joined ExxonMobil Chemical in 2007 and spent various Research and Technology positions in Singapore, Baytown, and Shanghai. Prior to this position, he was the Global Product Research Fundamentals Manager. Saifudin has authored and co-authored >40 patents in polymer and chemical areas.
